2. Using this website
We keep the information on this website accurate and current as well as we can, but we cannot guarantee that it is complete or free of errors. Dates, venues and prices of events can change; the event page shows the latest details.
The texts, photos and graphics on this website belong to JCI Malta or to the people who gave us permission to use them. You are welcome to share links to our pages. Please ask us before reusing texts or photos elsewhere. The JCI name and logo are trade marks of Junior Chamber International and may only be used as its brand guidelines allow.
We link to websites of partners and others. We are not responsible for their content.
Please do not use the website in a way that harms it or other visitors, for example by trying to gain access to areas that are not meant for you or by submitting false registrations.
3. Membership
Who can join
Membership is open to people aged 18 to 39. Student membership is for students; we may ask for proof. The board may decline an application, in which case any fee already paid is refunded in full.
Fees and renewal
Regular membership costs €59 a year and student membership €20 a year. Your membership starts when we receive your payment and runs for one year.
If you pay by card, your membership renews automatically each year and the fee is charged to your card, until you cancel. We tell you in the members area when your membership renews.
Cancelling
You can stop the automatic renewal at any time, in the members area under “Payment and invoices” or by writing to us. Your membership then runs until the end of the year you have paid for.
If you change your mind after joining, you can withdraw within 14 days of your payment and we refund the fee in full. After that, fees for a membership year that has started are not refunded.
Being a member
After you join, a membership officer contacts you and you choose your Local Organisation. Members are bound by the JCI Malta Constitution and the Code of Conduct, which are available in the members area.
4. Events
Registering
You register on the event page. For a free event your place is confirmed at once. For a paid event your place is confirmed when your payment has gone through. Places can be limited and are given in the order of registration.
Some events have a reduced price for members. It applies to a member who is signed in when registering. Guests registered together with a member pay the standard price.
If you cannot come
Please tell us as early as you can, so that someone else can take your place. For paid events we refund your payment if you cancel at least seven days before the event. After that we refund only if we can give your place to someone else.
If we change or cancel an event
We may have to change the date, the venue or the programme of an event, or cancel it. We tell everyone who registered as soon as we can. If we cancel a paid event, or you cannot attend on the new date, we refund your payment in full.
At the event
We ask everyone to treat others with respect. Organisers may ask a person to leave if their behaviour puts others at risk or disturbs the event.
5. Payments
Prices are shown in euro. Card payments are processed by Stripe on a secure payment page; we never see or store your card details. Members find the receipts for their membership fee in the members area under “Payment and invoices”.
6. The members area
You sign in with a link we send to the email address of your membership. Keep access to that mailbox to yourself, and tell us if your email address changes.
7. Our responsibility
We organise our events and run this website with care. We are responsible for loss or damage we cause deliberately or through gross negligence. Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss or for things outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under consumer law.
8. Your personal data
How we handle personal data is described in our privacy policy.
9. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Malta. If we cannot settle a disagreement between us, the courts of Malta have jurisdiction.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. The version on this page on the day you register or join is the one that applies to that registration or membership year.
