National Public Speaking Competition

For several years, JCI Malta has organised the National Public Speaking Competition, whereby it chooses its public speaking champion for the relevant year. In 2019, the winning participant for the 21 years and over category, Hanien Alouzi, represented Malta in Lyon, France, with flights and accommodation fully covered. Participants take part in two stages: in the semi-finals, they prepare and gave a speech of 3 minutes on a specific theme. In the final, contestants give their speech once more and also have the opportunity to make an impromptu speech, an essential skill in today’s world. JCI Malta collaborates with several organisations in the running of this competition, specifically with ESU and KNŻ. In 2020, JCI Malta is also collaborating with Toastmasters.
