Product Description

This is the first event in a JCI Malta series called “Change Politics”, where we want to hold healthy, engaging and honest discussions on politics, with the viewpoint that change is possible.

Over the year JCI Malta has worked on projects that outlined the importance of understanding why we should vote, how we decide who to vote for, and educating upcoming young politicians to enter the political foray with the right mindset – to improve Malta.

As an apolitical organisation, we believe it is our duty and our responsibility to help young people develop critical and analytical thinking. It is also our responsibility to guide young future leaders who wish to enter politics with a mindset that steers away from corrupt practices and nepotism, but that instead focuses on making Malta sustainable, that treats humanity with dignity, and one that puts the country and its people before themselves.

Problems with Politics: A Discussion will be tackling The Voter’s Perspective. A keynote speaker will be discussing their point of view and experiences as a person who was involved in politics, but not as a politician. This will then be followed by a panel discussion comprising various speakers whose lives have touched politics and who have opinions, thoughts, and advice to share with the audience.

Keynote speaker: Chiara Milani

Panel: Marthese Portelli – CEO, Malta Chamber
Mark Laurence Zammit – Journalist, Times of Malta
Andre Callus – Activist, Moviment Graffitti
George Vital Zammit – Academic, University of Malta
