JCI Malta was invited to meet a number of representatives of the Democratic Party (Partit Demokratiku) in the parliament building.
PD leader Godfrey Farrugia spoke about the importance of having a third voice in the Maltese parliament. He also highlighted the need of a constitutional reform in Malta.
Farrugia also brought up the MEP candidate shadowing initiative organised by JCI Malta. JCI Malta Secretary General Nicole Borg explained the aims of the shadowing and that it’s part of a whole campaign tied to the upcoming MEP elections.
JCI Malta National President Christoph Schwaiger gave a brief overview of how JCI functions and explained what the organisation is currently focusing on locally.
PD Deputy Leader Timothy Alden spoke about the lack of civic education in Malta. He said that youths are particularly affected by this issue.
Martin Cauchi Inglott (MEP Candidate) and Raymond Azzopardi (Local Council candidate) were also present for this meeting.
