We want to make an even bigger impact in Malta in 2020 and are therefore looking for further volunteers to fill the below-mentioned positions for the local organisation JCI Public Speaking and Debating and the local organisation for social activities JCI Wignacourt. The following positions are available:

Director of Marketing & PR

The person elected in this role will be responsible for the overall marketing of JCI Malta and it’s LOMs. This person will be responsible for all social media accounts, which to date include Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. They will also be in charge of sending out newsletters as they deem fit and following consultation with National President throughout the year. This person will also be responsible for the content generation on the JCI Malta website as well as Public Relations for the organization. The person elected will also be responsible for running online recruitment campaigns in order to add another layer of reach to potential JCI Malta members.

JCI Wignacourt: President

The person elected to this post is responsible for the management of the Local Organisation assigned to him/her, reporting to the Board of Directors with respect to all matters concerning that Local Organisation. Specifically, this person will manage the Local Organisation, supervise and be responsible for the organization of the Local Organisation’s activities and projects, and act as the link between the Local Organisation’s members and the Board of Directors. It is also the responsibility of the Local Organisation President to set up a Local Organisation board, which is elected by the Local Organisation members. This person is also responsible to provide training opportunities to JCI members, including but not limited to the organization of regular training sessions.

JCI Public Speaking & Debating: President

The person elected to this post is responsible for the management of the Local Organisation assigned to him/her, reporting to the Board of Directors with respect to all matters concerning that Local Organisation. Specifically, this person will manage the Local Organisation, supervise and be responsible for the organization of the Local Organisation’s activities and projects, and act as the link between the Local Organisation’s members and the Board of Directors. It is also the responsibility of the Local Organisation President to set up a Local Organisation board, which is elected by the Local Organisation members. This person is also responsible to provide training opportunities to JCI members, including but not limited to the organization of regular training sessions.

JCI Wignacourt: Deputy President

Assist the Local President in day to day running of the chapter and learn as much as possible to be more equipped when contesting the role of Local President in the following year. The person elected to this post is responsible for the management of the Local Organisation assigned to him/her, reporting to the Local President and the National Board of Directors with respect to all matters concerning that Local Organisation. Specifically, this person will assist the Local President in managing the Local Organisation, supervise and be responsible for the organization of the Local Organisation’s activities and projects, and act as the link between the Local Organisation’s members and the National Board of Directors. This person is also responsible to organize training opportunities for JCI members.

JCI Public Speaking & Debating: Deputy President

Specifically, this person will assist the Local President in managing the Local Organisation, supervise and be responsible for the organization of the Local Organisation’s activities and projects, and act as the link between the Local Organisation’s members and the National Board of Directors. This person is also responsible to organize training opportunities for JCI members.

JCI Wignacourt: Memberships & Growth Officer

The Memberships and Growth Officer is responsible for the management of members in the Local Organisation and reporting to the Local Board of Directors with respect to all matters concerning that Local Organisation. Specifically, this person will manage the Local Organisation members, supervise the member onboarding process and be responsible for the organization of the Local Organisation’s recruitment. The officer will also empower young people in the community to unite all sectors of society to create a sustainable impact.

The Memberships and Growth Officer is responsible for the management of members in the Local Organisation and reporting to the Local Board of Directors with respect to all matters concerning that Local Organisation. Specifically, this person will manage the Local Organisation members, supervise the member onboarding process and be responsible for the organization of the Local Organisation’s recruitment. JCI Wignacourt: Secretary

The Local Secretary oversees and executes all administrative duties of the Local Organization. The Local Secretary organizes all records and acts as a liaison between members and the Local Board of Directors. You can check out the Local Secretary role guide through here.

JCI Wignacourt: Treasurer

As a Local Treasurer, you manage all of the finances of your JCI Local Organization. This role is crucial to the long-term success of the organization since the Treasurer ensures transparent practices that invest in the organization’s long-term goals and ultimately the sustainability of the organization. Internationally, this role is slightly different from locally. Currently, your Local Organisation’s funds are in the hands of the National Organisation. Any request to make use of funds needs to go through the National Treasurer. You can look at the international version of tasks for the Local Treasurer through here.

How does it work?

After indicating your interest as described in the previous point, we will schedule a meeting or video call with you and see which position is the best fit for you. Some local board positions can be started immediately and are appointed by the respective Local President. Prospective applicants for positions that are on the National Board (e.g. Local Presidents and Director of Marketing & PR) will be nominated during the extraordinary JCI Annual General Meeting on 22nd May 2020 and once elected, all new officeholders will start their positions on 23rd May 2020.
