[ENG] Two Maltese elected to International Posts for Junior Chamber International.

During the annual Junior Chamber International (JCI) World Congress, this year held annalisa-schembri-1in Quebec, two Maltese were elected to International Posts for 2017. Local entrepreneur Jonathan James Borg was elected as Executive Vice President assigned to Europe for 2017, whilst freelance Creative and Manager in the entertainment industry Annalisa Schembri was elected as 2017 Chair for the European Development Council.

This is not the first time JCI Malta has been represented internationally. Over the past 22 years, there have been 3 elected Maltese Vice Presidents, and two Councilors on the European Development council, as well as a European Conference organized in Malta in 2014.

JCI is a nonprofit organization, found in over 120 countries, which provides its members with leadership development opportunities geared towards making members into better leaders with the scope of advancing personal, professional and societal agendas in the communities we live in.

jonathan-james-borg-1Jonathan James Borg has been in the management consulting and renewable energy business fields for several years and he is also a lecturer in strategic management and business development.  “I am proud to have the opportunity to serve this global organization at such a level, and of course represent Malta”, said Jonathan, “in the past years JCI has positioned itself as a leading network for upcoming leaders to enhance their skills and grow their network through the multiple projects which are run in each country.”

Mr. Borg has been a member of JCI Malta since 2010, served as National President for Malta in 2013 and was elected as a JCI Vice President assigned to Europe in 2015. The position of Executive Vice President to be held by Jonathan James Borg in 2017 is the highest elected post to the International Board be held by a Maltese citizen within JCI.

Annalisa Schemberi has been a freelancer in the creative industry for over 8 years, working locally and across Europe with established productions but also creative startups. She is also a professional in the Informal and Non-Formal learning field and a visiting lecturer on strategic volunteer management and event management.

Annalisa is also the co-founder of WePitchIt.com a recent Maltese startup working with creating the best story telling for the next big presentation.

“I feel humbled and proud to have been elected to serve our active citizens within the JCI movement in Europe and leading them through growth and development of not only their local organizations and communities but also through their personal development to become better citizens and achieve their dreams.

More than ever today, the world needs leaders that can be inspirational, just, kind, open to diversity and forward looking – JCI is the place where such leaders are fostered. As JCI members we feel the duty to be better citizens as we believe that the world is shaped by those who act.”

Ms. Schembri has been a member of JCI Malta since 2008, served as National President for Malta in 2015 and is serving as a JCI European Development Councilor for 2016. Ms. Schembri is the first Maltese to ever be elected Chair Person of the European Development Council.

JCI Malta is very proud to have presented two very capable and passionate individuals for these roles.

 Waqt il-Kungress annwali ta’ Junior Chamber International (JCI), li din is-sena inżamm ġewwa Quebec, żewġ Maltin ġew eletti f’karigi internazzjonali għas-sena 2017. L-imprenditur lokali Jonathan James Borg ġie elett bħala President Eżekuttiv għal-Ewropa filwaqt li Annalisa Schembri, Manager fl-industrija tal-kreattività u divertiment ġiet eletta bħala Ċermen tal-European Development Council (EDC) għas-sena 2017.

Din mhix l-ewwel darba li JCI Malta qiegħda tiġi irrapreżentata fuq livell internazzjonali f’din l-Organizzazjoni.  F’dawn l-aħħar 22 sena, ġew eletti tlett Viċi Presidenti Maltin, żewġ Kunsilliera fil- European Development Council (EDC), u Konferenza Ewropeja f’Malta fl-2014.

JCI hija organizazzjoni non-profit, li tinsab f’aktar minn 120 pajjiż, li tipprovdi opportunitajiet ta’ żvillup bħala mexxeja fis-soċjeta’ lil membri tagħha, bl-iskop li javvanzaw lilhom nfushom fl-ambitu personali, professjonali, kif ukoll biex jkunu aktar attivi b’mod posittiv fil-kommunitajiet tagħhom.

Jonathan ilu diversi snin jaħdem fil-qasam tal-konsulenza maniġerjali u enerġija alternattiva, u huwa ukoll għalliem fis-suġġetti ta’ Management strateġiku, kif ukoll żvilupp ta’ intrapriżi. “Ninsab kburi b’din l-opportunita li naħdem għal din l-organizazzjoni fuq dan il-livell, u li nirrapreżenta lil Malta,” stqarr Jonathan, “f’dawn l-aħħar snin JCI bdiet taħdem biex tkun organizazzjoni globali sinonima mexxeja tal-futur li jridu itejbu lilhom nfushom u jkabbru n-netwerk taghhom bil-proġetti varji li jagħmlu f’kull pajjiż”

Is-Sur Borg ilu membru taż JCI Malta mil-2010, serva bħala President ta’ din l-organizazzjoni fl-2013, u ġie elett bħala Viċi President għal JCI iffokat fuq l- Ewropa fl-2015. Il-pożizzjoni ta’ President Eżekuttiv li ser ikollu Jonathan James Borg fl-2017, hija l-iktar waħda għolja li qatt inżammet minn persuna Maltija f’JCI.

Annalisa ilha taħdem bħala freelancer fl-industrija tal-kreattività għal aktar minn tmien snin u ħadmet kemm lokalment kif ukoll madwar l-Ewropa kemm ma’ djar tal-produzzjoni stabbiliti kif ukoll oħrajn li kienu għadhom jibdew. Hija wkoll professjonista fil-qasam tat-tagħlim formali u informali u lecturer fuq l-immaniġġjar tal-volontarjat strateġiku u organizzar t’attivitaijet. Hija wkoll il-kofundattriċi ta’ WePitchIt.com, kumpanija Maltija ġdida li taħdem biex tgħin lil dak li jkun jikkrea presentation mil-aqwa.

“Inħosnni kburija u umli li ġejt eletta biex inservi liċ-ċittadini attivi fi ħdan il-JCI fl-Ewropa u biex immexxihom fit-tkabbir u l-iżvilupp tal-organizzazzjonijiet lokali tagħhom kif ukoll fl-iżvilupp personali tagħhom biex isiru ċittadini aħjar u jilħqu l-ispirazzjonijiet tagħhom.

Illum. Aktar minn qatt qabel, id-dinja għandha bżonn ta’ mexxejja li jkunu sors ta’ ispirazzjoni, ġusti, miftuħa għad-diversità u li jħarsu ’l quddiem – JCI hija l-organizzazzjoni fejn dawn il-mexxejja jittrawmu. Bħala membri tal- JCI members inħossu d-dover li nkunu ċittadini aħjar għax nemmnu li d-dinja tinbena minn dawk li jaġixxu.”

Is-Sinjornina Schembri ilha membru ta’ JCI Malta mis-sena 2008, serviet bħala President ta’ din l-Organizazzjoni fl-2015, u qed isservi bħala Kunsielliera fil-European Development Council  waqt is-sena 2016.  Is-Sinj Schembri hija l-ewwel Maltija li qatt ġiet eletta bħala Ċermen tal-EDC.
